Opium Production in Afghanistan Cratered Following U.S. Withdrawal | Side Stories on Between the Numbers
Former CIA Officer John Kiriakou recently told Tucker Carlson a story about opium production in Afghanistan.
It skyrocketed after the invasion and cratered once the U.S. withdrew. The U.S. government has a long, dark and ugly history of selling drugs.

Graham Platner dropped out because he took on the establishment dead on and they do not tolerate a independent mind. The weak kneed MeToo BS or everything else chucked at the wall I never listened. I liked Platner he that 🖕 U Moxie that #TelAvivTed lacks in both testosterone to take on his own establishment.
I watched him I wasn't sold immediately. What sold me was the hits came and he kept going and talking to people while counterpunching.
These demcrats merc'ed an actual good candidate with people skills who can drop a fireax on you.

American Gratitude post … 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’ve been enjoying watching the videos of foreigners who’ve come to the U.S. for the FIFA World Cup expressing their amazement and joy in discovering all the wonders of America, from our stunning and vast landscapes, large homes with walk-in closets and dishwashers, and air conditioning, to Buc-ees gas station shopping malls and endless refills of soda and beer. 😄
One visitor from the UK said something that has stayed in my mind.
He said with astonishment, “You can just walk into Walmart and replace your life!”
I thought about it, and he is right.
If my house burned down tomorrow, I could walk into Walmart down the road and buy everything I needed to continue living — furniture, appliances, and supplies for my bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, laundry, office, pharmaceutical, personal hygiene, electronics, household tools, gardening, automotive, toys, a bicycle, and food.
All in one store.
It might not be the best quality, but it would ...
Watching people attempt to "unskew" polls conducted by all walks of this industry—ranging from Nate Cohn at The New York Times to Spencer Kimball at Emerson College to Tim Malloy at Quinnipiac—all to deny Donald Trump's gains against Joe Biden with various voting blocs, is more than a little sad.
The slew of recent polls over two weeks—to include no less than four today alone—have simply confirmed prior findings published from other pollsters who have previously been "unskewed". That includes your's truly and our work at BIG DATA POLL, Mark Penn at Harvard University, Patrick Ruffini at Echelon Insights, and many others.
I'm temped to equate this with an Occam's razor-like situation. But this debate is more about likelihood than simplicity.
Here's the Presidential Vote Preference Trend for Biden v. Trump going back to August 2020. The Public Polling Project did not begin asking the Rematch Question for 2024 until September 2021. However, we can still make some pretty important and interesting observations.
