Iowa has 31 pivot counties, the largest number found in any state nationwide. Pivot counties are defined as counties that voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, but swung or "pivoted" to Donald Trump in 2016. All 31 pivot counties in the Hawkeye State would go on to support President Trump later in 2020, despite swinging fairly hard against Republicans in 2018, and again in the 2024 Presidential Election.
In prior swing cycles, or thermostat cycles is probably the better term, we've seen Iowa swing harder to the left against Republicans than other states you might otherwise suspect would outpace it. But it makes more sense when you realize the pivot nature of the state, regardless of how white it is.
That's not to say that it will swing harder than say, Ohio, this time. It just wouldn't be unexpected given that nature, it's history, and the fact polling the state has proven rather tricky for much of the industry.
Looks like we'll have Ashley Hinson up ever so slightly over Josh Turek in the second look at the state for us this cycle, but given some of those swing/pivot margins in the Eastern Counties particularly where Obama (then later 2018 Democrats) did well, there is cause for concern that we and others could be overstating her support statewide. While this U.S. Senate seat is one of the more harder lifts for Democrats this fall, it wouldn't take much for the state to flip if that were the case.

Folks, if you don't know what diners, you don't know.
We miss diners and this is Lancer's Diner in Warrington, and it's amazing!
After nearly two years of discipline on issues that cost them the 2024 election, Democrats unleash the CRAZY in Bucks County. Paul Martino, their chief target during what was supposed to be a "discussion", joined to discuss.

While attacking The New York Times/Siena Poll, a claim treats the leaned partisan composition of a likely-voter sample as evidence of bias against Republicans. In this episode, we test that inference against current party identification, independent leaners, vote preference, the broader political environment in the basic context of thermostat public opinion.

Hey guys, if you have read and enjoyed Burn It Down, please consider leaving a review. We have some big interviews and even an expose that is going to drop, and unfortunately with that there's always the chance haters hate.
I remember talking to Scott Adams about how they always did that shit to him. The hardcover is currently ahead of two New York Times best-sellers, including an "Instant" Best Seller, and all six reviews are 5-Star.
Let's see if we can't force them to put us on this list.
Reviews on other sites like Books-A-Million are also very helpful. Basically, where ever you purchased it.
P.S. I'll be on ABC News later, including YOUR ABC News @LongreachJones! See ya down under brother.
UPDATE: I'm deleting the ones that are over after a day or so to give everyone a chance to go check them out if they haven't already.
Lot of these interviews are pre-recorded. But here are the ones coming up.

Watching people attempt to "unskew" polls conducted by all walks of this industry—ranging from Nate Cohn at The New York Times to Spencer Kimball at Emerson College to Tim Malloy at Quinnipiac—all to deny Donald Trump's gains against Joe Biden with various voting blocs, is more than a little sad.
The slew of recent polls over two weeks—to include no less than four today alone—have simply confirmed prior findings published from other pollsters who have previously been "unskewed". That includes your's truly and our work at BIG DATA POLL, Mark Penn at Harvard University, Patrick Ruffini at Echelon Insights, and many others.
I'm temped to equate this with an Occam's razor-like situation. But this debate is more about likelihood than simplicity.
Here's the Presidential Vote Preference Trend for Biden v. Trump going back to August 2020. The Public Polling Project did not begin asking the Rematch Question for 2024 until September 2021. However, we can still make some pretty important and interesting observations.
